Baked Onions with Cheddar Cheese

I make this with roasted chicken or any main dish .This smells wonderful and is delicious!
Ingredients
- 1 lb. onions, sliced shopping list
- 3 T. butter shopping list
- 3 T. flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. milk shopping list
- 1 pinch each of salt and pepper shopping list
- 1T. worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1 c. smokey bacon cheddar cheese grated shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- In a saucepan, melt butter
- Whisk in flour and cook whisking constantly until thick, smooth and golden
- Continue whisking and slowly add in milk
- Cook until thickened
- Remove from heat and add salt, pepper and worcestershire sauce
- Layers onions and cheese in a 2 quart greased casserole dish
- Pour sauce over mixture
- Bake intil golden and bubbly, about 30 minutes
- Serve hot
