Pizza Hut Pizza Sauce - Copy Cat Recipe

How to make it

  • Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.
  • Cook over medium heat until sauce starts to boil.
  • Lower heat and simmer, covered,for 30 to 45 minutes or until it is as thick as you like it.
  • Makes enough for 2 pizzas.

    WOW PIZZA HUT CLOSED IN MY TOWN LAST YEAR AND I,VE BEEN CRAVING THIS SAUCE YEA!!!! IT TASTES JUST THE SAME YUM O!!!!!!!!!!

    This sounds delicious! we were just talking about making homemade pizza and now I definatly want to try this sauce ^^ as for the bay leaf, should it be removed before eating the sauce?

    Hi! I was just thinking of making pizza, my first time (at home), and was just going to use canned tomato sauce. Good thing I got to see this on time! I will try it out and get back to you! Thanks for posting! BTW, I too used to work for Pizza Hut and all I can say is that the customers who gets my prepared pizza are always the lucky ones cos I always end up doubling some of the ingredients due to pressure of time! ha! ha! And yes, I admit, I always get confused with how much to put on! ;P. Also, I still got a copy of the various toppings so if anyone wants one just holler! :)he he

    Thank you! My whole family enjoyed the sauce! But I must admit I'm one of those types that don't measure, make substitutes, etc. For instance, didn't have lemon juice and didn't add the water, forgot to add the bay leaf, put minced garlic instead of garlic powder, used sucanaut instead of sugar--and then added ketchup because my sauce was too salty! But my kids and I thought this was definitely a keeper of a recipe. Thank you again.

    I made this tonight, but i didn't have the lemon juice, so i substituted it with lime juice and i also didn't have the thyme. I doubled the recipe and put the other 1/2 in the freezer. It was a very good recipe, thanks!

    I worked for Pizza Hut when i was 17.
    How they really make there sauce is from a big bag.
    And add water.

    After working there I lost a lot of respect for Pizza Hut.
    It was nice working there cause I got 50% off..LOL

    Thats about all I can say for them..

    made this sauce last night with only one alteration... didnt have any lemons only limes. put a little squirt of lime in there instead. no matter, the sauce was excellent! this is now my one and only pizza sauce. thanks!
