Ingredients

How to make it

  • Fry the bacon until crisp. Drain, crumble, and reserve.
  • Boil the noodles for 15 minutes or so until done in salted water, and drain.
  • Mix the noodles with the bacon drippings in the pan. Add the sour cream, cottage cheese, and dill. Mix in the bacon, and serve.
  • We ate at a Hungarian restaurant in Chicago, and this was listed on the menu as an appetizer, so we ordered it. She brought a huge salad bowl heaped full of these noodles. How they thought we were supposed to eat all these, plus the goulash and the porkolt AND dessert, I have no idea. Decadent doesn't even begin to describe these noddles.

I have never eaten any hungarian food...but this does sound good. I think I will make a very small amount of these to try them. I know my kids probably won't eat them if they knew what all was in them, therefore I will have to make these when they are not paying attention. I bet my husband and I would like these. Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to try these, they sound very yummy! Have a great day!
