Lime Lemon Twist Cookie Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup softened unsalted butter

3/4 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp pure lemon extract

1 -2 tsp lime rind

2 tbsp milk

1/4 tsp salt

2-1/2 cup flour

1/2 cup Powdered sugar

2 tsp lemon juice

Directions

Preheat oven to 350

Grease cookie sheets

In large bowl, beat butter & sugar till light and fluffy

Add egg, lemon extract, lime rind & milk, and mix well

Add 1 cup of flour at a time, blending well after each

Form dough into ball and let sit 5 minutes

Take a small walnut size of dough at a time and roll into 6" ropes

(use a little (and I mean little) flour to stop from sticking)

Fold 6" rope in half and twist around each other

Repeat till done

Bake 12 minutes or till golden brown

Topping:

Mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar & lemon juice (add more lemon juice if too thick)

Remove cookies from oven and immediately brush topping over hot cookies

Cool on wire rack.
