Ingredients
  • Rolls
  • 1/4-oz package active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (105 to 110)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup butter melted
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • Filling
  • 1 Cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter -- softened
  • Icing
  • 8 tablespoons butter-- softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Directions
  1. Rolls: Dissolve the yeast in the milk in a large bowl.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients. Mix well. Knead til smooth.
  3. Place in a large greased bowl. Cover, let rise til doubled, about one hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 400.
  5. Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling.
  6. Roll dough out into a rectangle 21x16 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread with the butter and sprinkle the brown sugar mixture over the butter, leaving a 1/2 inch margin.
  8. Roll up into a cylinder, the long way. Cut into 1 3/4 inch slices. Place into a greased 9x13 pan. Lightly spray the tops with Pam or something similar. Let rise about 30 minutes, covered.
  9. Bake 10-15 minutes, until light brown on top.
  10. Combine the icing ingredients until fluffy. When the rolls come out of the oven, spread over the top.

I have always wanted to learn to make bread, and I think this recipe is a good place to start - fresh from the oven REAL cinnamon rolls would be a real treat...these sound delicious!!


This is really easy and very good. I've made it a lot. It makes the whole house smell incredible. I often make these for Christmas morning.

Hi..I was a busy woman yesterday with two of your recipes. I made these cinnamon rolls and your cracked wheat French bread. These cinnamon rolls are *simply wonderful* and the cream cheese icing is a real "keeper" for me. I'm going to put some raisins in the dough next time (I'm a raisin freak. . ), but the rolls are great just as they are. And they are simple to make. Thanks so much for making my family so happy! There are awesome! I just made them today and I usually mess up cinnamon rolls, but these turned out great!
