This sounds wonderful. Could you please clarify -- how much molasses? I have never used molasses and so I'm not familiar with this brand and don't know if you mean 1/2 bottle, 1/2 cup... you get the idea.
Thank you so much!

Great recipe :) Mine came from my mom and I was reluctant to even share it, but what's the harm? see how on the similar recipes how there are no other shoo fly pies? When I looked to do a search before I posted mine, only one came up and it didn't have coffee in it so I shared mine as it was quite different! I wonder why yours didn't show up? and why mine isn't showing up? LOL Oh well. We don't want Pink to get shooflied AGAIN!! do we. But that is what she gets for getting that song stuck in my head!! shoo fly don't bother me - egads.. for days now.! :)

My Mom gave me her recipe too, but sworn to secrecy. She wrote down all her old favourites to share with the family. How 'bout Funny Cake?

In the oven now.
I heard that it was used as a sacrificial pie for picnics. Placed on a table away from the other food to draw the flies to it and away from the table with the real food.

I'm not liking it. Way too sweet for me. Now I have two pies.
Mother sure likes it though. Well, she has a lot of eating ahead of her. Maybe I can give one away to the neighbors.
Nothing wrong with the recipe. It's just me.
