- Cream together shopping list
- 12 tbsp softened butter (1.5 sticks) shopping list
- 1/3 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/3 cup dark brown molasses shopping list
- Mix in shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 4-5 oz dark chocolate (best with a high cocoa content, e.g. 70%) (melted) shopping list
- 1 tbsp triple sec or Grand Marnier (optional) shopping list
- 2 tbsp black cocoa shopping list
- 1 tbsp normal cocoa shopping list
- Once this is well mixed, add shopping list
- 1 mashed banana shopping list
- 1/2 cup dried zante currants (golden raisins can be used instead) shopping list
- Slowly fold in until mixed shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- pinch of salt shopping list
How to make it
- Use a cookie sheet that is **lightly greased** so cookies do not stick.
- Cook in a 300-350 F oven for 8-9 minutes
- They are easy to overcook, as the batter is so dark it is hard to tell if the bottoms have become burnt.
- Favorite Variants 4 Types:
- 1. A simple cheesecake batter swirled in, use a normal cocoa rather than the black cocoa....Moose Splat.
- 2.Place a small, fresh chiltepin pepper on the top of each cookie before baking...Dragon Splat.
- 3.Add 1/4 to 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper as well as 1/2 cup toasted sesame seeds to the batter....South of the Border Splat.
- 4. For the Holidays...Sprinkle with green and red....Reindeer Splat.
