How to make it

  • Cut hard-cooked eggs in half.
  • Put cooked yolks in a bowl and mash.
  • Add mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar.
  • Mix until smooth and well blended.
  • Pack mixture back into each egg white half.
  • Put halves back together and secure with toothpicks.
  • In a shallow dish, mix flour and bread crumbs.
  • Dip whole eggs into egg yolk and then in flour mixture.
  • In a skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat.
  • Fry eggs in oil until golden brown.
  • Drain well on paper towels.
  • Serve with dipping sauce of your choice.

    This sounds very interesting. How hard is it to get the eggs to stay together? How messy is it? I always make a mess when I have to wash and dip!!

    Hot Dam! This is a must try. Where do you find these little gems?? Uumm, recipes I mean. Not the eggs. I have got to quit checking recipes in the middle of the night. I'm with everyone else here, though. I have never heard of this and yet I am sold. :D

    Most definitely a very unusual recipe! Curiosity will kill me unless I try them - besides, you said they're "tasty little buggers" and that's a term I can relate to!!

    Interesting. The dad is pretty picky about his deviled eggs. Likes them a certain way. Old fashioned. He does like just about anything fried, though. I'll try one or two next time. :)
