    I was searching around looking for something to do with ground beef and I fell upon your recipe....I had forgotten all about hamburger gravy and it is so easy and so good......thanks for posting this.............

    I make something similiar except I use a can of french onion soup and a can of cream of mushroom soup. Mix them in after browning and draining the hamburger. Then serve over mashed potatoes. My mom made this over and over when I was younger and I just loved it. Very quick and easy to make.

    I make this too only I add worcestshire sauce, garlic powder and a little beef granule bouillon. I sometimes use half-n-half instead of milk but this is definitely a winner and I am surprised at how many people know what this is! My Mom used to make it all the time and now this is actually my daughters favorite dinner. This is soooo cool! A dish that is loved the world round. . .thank you for sharing! =D

    taesma and mamamoni are right... it has many names and the dried beef .. my husband loves.. It is called S. O. S... ahhhh cant say it here... an old army or military recipe... I posted it!
    This is good, we have this on nights when were in a hurry!

    My mom made this, too! She served it over cooked cabbage. She called it Creamed Hamburger over Cabbage (duh!) It's one of my son's favorite meals.

    This is a good ole standby. Try the same using dried beef and omitting onion. YUMMY

    Ah, an old favorite! Especially for those frugal times. :) We called it Chicago hash. A friend's family called it Hobo hash. Probably has as many names as there are moms! lol

    This was very good, I gave you a 5 for your post. The only thing different I did was at the very end when I turned off the burner I added a good spoon full of sour cream and mixed it in. Served it over mashed potatoes and had a veggie with it. Oh MY I ate to much for supper tonight, so did my husband, he said it was real good. Thanks again for the good post.

    Sounds just like my mom taught me to make it. OHHHH sooo yummy. We usually serve our hamburger gravy over biscuits or toast, just personal choice but whatever it is served over it's GREAT.
