Homemade Blatjangsauce Recipe
delicious served with grilled or battered fish about 30-50ml of this sauce can be added to any other marinade especially chicken and steak

Ingredients
  • 500ml(2 cups) brown vinegar
  • 125ml(1/2cup)smooth apricot jam
  • 125ml(1/2cup)sugar
  • 5ml(1 tsp)garlic paste
  • 5ml(1 tsp) crushed chillies

Directions
  1. put all ingredients in a saucepan
  2. cook for 20-30 mins stirring at regular intervals until a thin layer covers the spoon
  3. remove from heat and cool
  4. store in a clean dry glass bottle in fridge
  5. enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I would love to try this sauce but I'm not sure what brown vinegar is. Is it like balsamic vinegar?


This sounds very good for marinades as well....and I think you mean Balsamic vinegar...right ?

As soon as I can grill outside without becoming frostbitten, I do a batch of chicken wings every week or so.
