country style steak and gravey

right out of the south
Ingredients
- 1# round steak cut in quarters shopping list
- 1 onion sliced shopping list
- 4 Tbs.oil or shortening shopping list
- 2 Tbs. flour shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 3 cups water shopping list
How to make it
- salt and pepper steaks to your liking
- roll in flour to coat
- heat oil in skillet , over medium high heat and sear steaks well
- remove steaks and place in a baking pan
- put onions over steaks
- add 2 Tbs. flour to skillet with the left over oil,and cook till lightly browned,add water and stir
- pour browned mixture over steaks and onions ,cover and bake at 325F. for about 1 hour,or until tender
