Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh clear water
  • 3-5 ice cubes
  • 1 Lime (optional, can be substituted with lemon)

Directions
  1. Delicately place ice cubes in a tall glass, as not to break them.
  2. Shake glass from side to side as to allow the ice to settle in the bottom of the glass.
  3. Evenly fill the glass with the water. You will notice a cracking noise (this is normal).
  4. Wait about one minute for ice to chill the water.
  5. In the meantime rinse the lime and cut into wedges.
  6. Make an incision on the inside of one wedge and place over the side of the glass. Or just place a few lime wedges directly inside the glass if you prefer.
  7. If you have a flexi-straw, use one or just enjoy as is.
  8. Let the Chillin' begin!

I was so excited to stumble upon this recipe because I had all of the necessary ingredients at home. I made your delicious iced water and, MAN did it hit the spot. Please share more of your insightful secrets with us. Please!

I dont mean to offend but i found it funny when i found ur recipe becauuse i thought that most people knew how to make iced water

Ever read the directions on the pop tart box...

I attempted something like this at home before but always messed up the ice part. Thanks for the tip!

mickey08.... (sigh)

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. My Iced Water looks nothing like the one in the picture. It looks blue. My girlfriend says it's my cobalt glasses, but I keep telling her, she's crazy.

,and to think I've been doing it backwards all of these years. hmmm

I am so glad my recipe is getting around, and that many of you are enjoying it. I got it from my grandmother who used to make it for me on hot days. I would beg and beg but she always refused to give me the recipe! One day I finaly figured it out, by just watching. This one is a gem! Feel free to share it along!

I tried your great recipe, but I substituted the craziest things instead of the lime-ORANGE slices and LEMON slices. I know, it sounds a bit crazy, but trust me, I walk on the WILD SIDE!

This is truly a genius concoction. I can't believe I've come this far in my life and never encountered such a delightful, refreshing treat. Kudos!

Aww man i was really looking forward to making this, but we didn't have water. tried substituting air but when i went to drink it, the ice cubes hit me on the nose.

really need to get my hands on some of this amazing water thing...

Wait.. Does anyone know how to make ice????

This is my kids' favorite recipe. Never thought of writing it down in here. Thanks for doing that :)

Ya'll are too funny... BUT... I can't make this here in South Texas.. It's to hot, it melts the ice! LOL

What a great recipe! I used to make it when I was younger but lost the recipe. Is there a health food section in which this could also be included?

Think was iced water...out cool
i not like iced water was lemon...into put to lemon at iced water!

I had doubts, but I went out on a limb and tried making this with the dehydrated water packets. WOW, it was great! What insite, I may even try a sprig of mint next time. Using the powdered water is so convenient when your on the go. Use Key limes for extra flavor. Thanks for sharing!

I have been trying to make this recipe for awhile but i can't figure it out... how do you get ice *cubes* i tried going outside and grabbing some icicles and using those but it came out disgusting so then i went to the shaws and went up and down the frozen section and i didn't see any "ice cubes" so i don't know what to do... there was itallian ice is that like the same thing can i use it or do i need american ice?

Samatwood, I really wouldn't advise using any imported ice, it tends to melt faster than American ice, not to mention the ice you get from China...loaded with lead so beware!

Thanks so much for your awesome recipe, I will definately use it a lot this summer out here in sunny California!

There are just too may ingredients for my cooking skills and allotted time.
I'm going to try it without the lime and see if it still turns out okay.

I have a very special meal to make for Mr. Breezy's upcoming birthday -- I'm going to give this one a shot. Do you think I need to serve it with anything else?

:)
