pears with gorgonzola
From kochhexe 16 years agoIngredients
- 4 firm, small, ripe pears shopping list
- 1 TBSP lemon juice, fresh shopping list
- 1/4 cup gorgonzola or other blue cheese, at room temperature shopping list
- (there is a danish one which is quite lovely, not as 'harsh' as gorgonzola) shopping list
- 2 TBSP butter (approx.) shopping list
- 4 TBSP freshly ground walnuts (approx.), pine nuts or pistachio nut shopping list
- (i used a mixture of all three) shopping list
How to make it
- peel pears
- cut in halves, so that the stem is kept intact on one side
- (ok, then it will not be perfect 'halves' - but lets not get mathematical about that :-) )
- remove kernels and about
- 1 TBSP of 'flesh' (pulp?)
- immediately brush withlemon juice to avoid pears becoming brown
- mix gorgonzola with butter until soft and creamy-foamy
- (i take a wooden spoon, definitely NOT WITH A MIXER OR OTHER ELECTRIC TOOL)
- fill both sides of pear halves with mixture
- press together to make a hole one again
- (heavens, describing this is difficult :-) )
- roll pears in nut mixture
- place on serving dish
- refridgerate about 2 (two) hours or until mixture is firm.
- looks pretty - i decorate with some mint leaves
