How to make it

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease and flour a 10 inch Bundt pan.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time beat well after addition.
  • Stir in almond extract and orange zest
  • Combine flour baking powder and salt.
  • Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream beat on low just until blended.
  • Fold in toasted almonds.
  • Pour into bundt pan.
  • Bake for 70 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan 10 minutes.
  • Remove from pan cool completely
  • Glaze:
  • Combine sugar butter and enough orange juice to reach desired consistency.
  • Add orange zest and toasted almonds.
  • Spoon over the cake

    It really does taste so good and very moist. Was just playing around with the cake one day and came up with this recipe I had been trying to perfect it for a long time but finally got it after about 15 tries to get to taste and the moistness that I wanted to achieve.
