I have been making cheese, meat and cracker lunches long before lunchables came out, but when Oscar Mayer started getting more creative I had to, too. My daughters would ask for mega taco or nacho lunchables. At almost $4 apiece I wasn’t doing that. Read more So I started creating different lunch kits for them. I really couldn’t understand why they wanted cold hamburgers or pizza or chicken nuggets, but they did. A couple of times I bought one for school field trips where everything had to be in throw away packaging and they were very disappointed. Their friends would go home and ask mom to make them. Ingredients
- TACO KIT shopping list
- ½ C. bean dip (store-bought) shopping list
- ½ C. shredded chicken shopping list
- ½ C. grated Mexican blend cheese shopping list
- 1/3 C. salsa shopping list
- 2 T. sour cream shopping list
- ½ C. shredded lettuce shopping list
- 2 small tortillas shopping list
- 2 cookies shopping list
- 1 Capri sun shopping list
- NACHO’S shopping list
- Handful tortilla chips shopping list
- ½ C. bean dip shopping list
- ½ C. seasoned taco meat shopping list
- ½ C. nacho cheese sauce shopping list
- 3 T. salsa shopping list
- 1 T. sliced olives shopping list
- ½ sliced pear shopping list
- Carmel dipping sauce shopping list
- Capri sun shopping list
- chicken LUNCH shopping list
- 4-6 chicken nuggets or fingers (made ahead and froze) shopping list
- 2 or 3 each celery and carrot sticks shopping list
- 1 oz. cheese cut in sticks shopping list
- 1/3 C. ranch dip shopping list
- 2 cookies shopping list
- 1 juice box shopping list
- PIZZA KIT shopping list
- 2 mini pitas or make mini pizza crusts and freeze shopping list
- 1/3 C. pizza sauce shopping list
- ½ C. shredded mozzarella shopping list
- 2 T. pepperoni., chopped fine shopping list
- 5 baby carrots shopping list
- 1 snack pack pudding shopping list
- 1 juice box shopping list
How to make it
- TACO KIT, CHICKEN LUNCH, PIZZA KIT
- Place all ingredients in appropriate sized plastic containers or zip lock bags.
- NACHOS
- You can put the chips in a container big enough to assemble the nachos in and pack everything like the taco kit, but I prefer to make a layered dip and pack the chips in a zip lock bag. Soak pear slices in lemon water to prevent browning. 1/8 C. lemon juice to 2 C. water. Pack in zip lock bag.
- When you have assembled all ingredients for lunch of your choice place every thing in an insulated lunch bag with napkins plastic spoon and a disposable ice pack.

These are great! Thanks so much. My kids always want the lunchables too. But like you said, they can be expensive and don't always fit in the food budget.
