Better Than Lunchables Recipe

Ingredients

TACO KIT

½ C. bean dip (store-bought)

½ C. shredded chicken

½ C. grated Mexican blend Cheese

1/3 C. salsa

2 T. sour cream

½ C. shredded lettuce

2 small tortillas

2 cookies

1 Capri sun

NACHO’S

Handful tortilla chips

½ C. bean dip

½ C. seasoned taco meat

½ C. nacho cheese sauce

3 T. salsa

1 T. sliced olives

½ sliced pear

Carmel dipping sauce

Capri sun

CHICKEN LUNCH

4-6 chicken nuggets or fingers (made ahead and froze)

2 or 3 each celery and carrot sticks

1 oz. cheese cut in sticks

1/3 C. ranch dip

2 cookies

1 juice box

PIZZA KIT

2 mini pitas or make mini pizza crusts and freeze

1/3 C. pizza sauce

½ C. shredded mozzarella

2 T. pepperoni., chopped fine

5 baby carrots

1 snack pack pudding

1 juice box

Directions

TACO KIT, CHICKEN LUNCH, PIZZA KIT

Place all ingredients in appropriate sized plastic containers or zip lock bags.

NACHOS

You can put the chips in a container big enough to assemble the nachos in and pack everything like the taco kit, but I prefer to make a layered dip and pack the chips in a zip lock bag. Soak pear slices in lemon water to prevent browning. 1/8 C. lemon juice to 2 C. water. Pack in zip lock bag.

When you have assembled all ingredients for lunch of your choice place every thing in an insulated lunch bag with napkins plastic spoon and a disposable ice pack.

These are great! Thanks so much. My kids always want the lunchables too. But like you said, they can be expensive and don't always fit in the food budget.

Thank you for adding this list of lunchables.. I have never really looked at these in the store and what a great idea... Being Gluten free it's alway hard to find stuff to take with me to eat.. this opens up all kinds of options. a 5 in my book
