How to make it

  • Cook macaroni in boiling salted water according to directions on package, drain; toss with butter and chives and arrange in bottom of 9 x 13 baking dish.
  • Sprinkle on the cheese; then crumble ground beef in a layer over all.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Pour over Hunt's Sauce mixed with water, chili powder and sugar.
  • Cover; bake at 375* 35 to 40 minutes.
  • Remove cover; top with onion rings and bake 10 minutes longer.
