This is what we kids in New Orleans called Freeze Cups. I sold them from our house when I was fourteen. This was my first self-employed job.

Ingredients

1 package of unsweeted Kool-Aid (Any Flavor) shopping list
2 cups sugar shopping list
4 cups warm water shopping list
6-10 oz plastic or styrofoam cups shopping list

How to make it

Mix Kool-Aid, sugar and water until sugar is disolved. Pour into cups and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.

i remember these. my grandma was the "candy lady" for our neighborhood in texas and she sold these. i haven't had kool-aid since then. thanks for the post and the memories.

Oh gosh, Frank Davis mentioned these this morning. Reminded me of the lady around the corner who sold them out of her side door. I don't know what she put in it, but it tasted better than the other Moms' in the neighborhood. She used to have a line of kids out her door after school and during the summers. Thanks for the memories; 5*!

Oh yeah - those first "jobs" were definitely the most fun! I sat on a curb outside a chicken place and ran car orders inside for the cook to package up...a bit before microphones and drive-thru's became the "norm"!! Great memories - thanks for sharing yours...
