I have a recipe similar to this, but I use one 12 oz can of root beer. My dry rub also has in it dry mustard.

I usually end up adding some BQ sauce at the end too. Definitely a good recipe! Thanks for posting.

This recipe looks so awesome. I moved here to NC a year ago I lived in MS for 2 years as a child when my Dad was in the military and have been reacquainting myself with southern cooking since then. I bookmarked this one to try for sure. Now I have to get busy and get to work on all the ones I've bookmarked. Just one question though. Did you serve your hurricane toss up soup and salad with croutons or crackers? LOL

We had this huge party today and everyone brought something.. One friend got this recipe as she had to work and it was a crock pot dish..ANYWAY, it was so good, she did not make the cole slaw, we just had it on buns with pickles if they wanted... She said it was the easiest thing to make and will be doing it again for partys.. GREAT POST!

Sometimes I use limeade concentrate depending on what is in the freezer. I really only use half of the chile in adobo. I can't make it too hot for the family and it is just enough heat to make the sandwich interesting.
