Portuguese Soup

I do not know why this is called PORTUGUESE SOUP, but it is wonderful and (mostly) healthy!! :)
Ingredients
- PORTUGUESE SOUP shopping list
- 1 lb smoked sausage shopping list
- 1 lb hot links shopping list
- 2 cups chopped onions shopping list
- 6 cloves garlic, chopped shopping list
- 6 tbsp oil shopping list
- 1 can kidney beans shopping list
- .1 cup uncooked macaroni (your choice variety) shopping list
- 1 head green cabbage, chopped shopping list
- 1 cup chopped carrots shopping list
- 12 small new potatoes, quartered shopping list
- 2 cups catsup shopping list
- ¼ cup vinegar, shopping list
- 10 cups (2 ½ quarts) beef stock shopping list
- salt & pepper to taste shopping list
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ shopping list
- Cut meat into bite size pieces. shopping list
- Brown in soup pot then remove meat. shopping list
- Sauté onions and garlic in meat juices and oil until shopping list
- transparent. shopping list
- Add remaining ingredients and meat. shopping list
- Simmer 45 minutes. shopping list
