Easy Italian Herb Focaccia
From frankieanne 15 years agoIngredients
- 3-1/4 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 envelope rapid rise yeast (equivalent 2-1/4 tsp. - bread machine yeast works, too) shopping list
- 1 Tbs. sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil shopping list
- 1-2/3 cups very warm water (120 to 130F) shopping list
- 2 Tbs. shredded parmesan cheese shopping list
- 1 Tbs. Italian herb seasoning (I used 1/2 Italian herb and 1/2 fresh minced rosemary) shopping list
How to make it
- Mix flour, undissolved yeast, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Add the water and 2 Tbs. of the olive oil, stirring until well mixed. Spread dough into greased 13 x 9 pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
- Poke multiple holes into the dough using the handle of a wooden spoon. Drizzle the remaining olive oil over dough; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and herbs. Cover and let rise an additional 15 minutes while oven preheats to 375F.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes until lightly browned. Cool slightly and cut into slices. Serve warm. If desired, serve with additional olive oil for dipping.
