Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix flour, undissolved yeast, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Add the water and 2 Tbs. of the olive oil, stirring until well mixed. Spread dough into greased 13 x 9 pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
  • Poke multiple holes into the dough using the handle of a wooden spoon. Drizzle the remaining olive oil over dough; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and herbs. Cover and let rise an additional 15 minutes while oven preheats to 375F.
  • Bake 30 to 35 minutes until lightly browned. Cool slightly and cut into slices. Serve warm. If desired, serve with additional olive oil for dipping.

A+++ recipe! 10 stars for sure!!
I baked mine on a 14x9" sheet pan that I covered in parchment paper and greased with olive oil. The pan may explain why I had a nice crispy crust on the bottom. It was nicely golden too, so not overdone at all. It reminded more of a ciabatta bread that way. :)
The dough is very sticky, so if your pan doesn't have high sides (to cover with a cloth so it doesn't touch the dough) than spray a piece of plastic wrap with baking spray and place that on top of the dough and cover with a tea towel to rise.
On the Fleischmann's website it said to use 3 cups of flour, so that's what I used and it seemed fine and it baked up perfectly in 30 minutes.
This is so easy to make and smells absolutely delectable while baking!! You will not be disappointed!

Focaccia turned out just like the picture except for a little more cheese topping. I ate a little over half the loaf and had to cut and bag the left overs before there weren't any more left overs.

Italian Herb Focaccia is something I make on a regular basis during the winter months.
