Ingredients

How to make it

  • Combine all ingredients except beans in a large saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat.
  • Cover then reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
  • Add beans then cover and simmer 10 minutes until beans are cooked but still crisp.
  • Transfer beans and liquid to a shallow serving dish and refrigerate covered overnight.
  • Serve cold or at room temperature.

    Hey, these sound great. We have tons of bush beans from this summer's garden in the freezer (in addition to the canned ones!) and I'm going to try this recipe. By the ingredients, it doesn't seem so fiery hot. Should I add crushed red pepper flakes?
