Fiery Hot Green Beans

- 2 cups water shopping list
- 3/4 cup white vinegar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon crushed mustard seeds shopping list
- 4 garlic cloves thinly sliced shopping list
- 4 bay leaves shopping list
- 2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper shopping list
- 1 pound fresh green beans trimmed shopping list
How to make it
- Combine all ingredients except beans in a large saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat.
- Cover then reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
- Add beans then cover and simmer 10 minutes until beans are cooked but still crisp.
- Transfer beans and liquid to a shallow serving dish and refrigerate covered overnight.
- Serve cold or at room temperature.
