Fire And Ice Centerpiece
From wynnebaer 16 years agoIngredients
- Artificial or natural pine greens and pine cones shopping list
- Small plastic gold ornaments, or color of table scheme shopping list
- Gold string beads (I use miniature tree garland) shopping list
- Freezer safe plastic container with smooth straight sides (Use whatever size and shape you want the centerpiece to be...I have also used different size containers to make several smaller blocks and added to tray) shopping list
- tea light candles in clear holders or floating tea lights shopping list
- distilled water (enough to fill container) shopping list
- Edged tray to hold centerpiece shopping list
- Fresh greens and ornaments to arrange around centerpiece and table shopping list
How to make it
- Cook time does not include freeze time
- Put greens, pine cones, ornaments, and beads in container and arrange so they touch the sides of container,
- using enough so they stay still when adding water
- Slowly add distilled water to 1 inch from top of container
- Place tea lights on top of water
- Freeze on a flat surface in the freezer for 2 days
- To remove from container, let sit for 15-20 minutes on counter
- Fold paper towels so it's a little smaller than centerpiece and put on tray to keep from slipping
- Put centerpiece on paper towel
- Put fresh greens around base of centerpiece
- Remove water from tray as it melts
- Add fresh greens and ornaments sporadically around table
- Set with your choice of dinnerware
