Ingredients
  • Crust
  • 1½ cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups salted cashews, mixed nuts, peanuts, whatever nut you prefer
  • Caramel Topping
  • ½ cup corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 6 ounces butterscotch chips
  • (I would try pnut btter chips!)

Directions
  1. For the crust, cream together the butter, brown sugar and salt; then blend in the flour. Press mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 10x15 baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Prepare topping while crust is baking.
  2. For the topping, combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil and then boil gently for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. To assemble, remove crust from oven, sprinkle nuts over hot crust, and then pour hot topping over the nuts. Return pan to oven and bake an additional 10 to 14 minutes, until golden brown. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

Sounds fabulous! Krum, that is a great idea about all of the old recipes. I have so many. I started putting mine in notebooks but I don't know if they will keep for my grandaughter, when she grows up. I have already made her a scapebook of family recipes and some of my recipes that I have had for yrs.

I have recipe cards I could put in a pot of water and make soup, sometimes they are hard to read and I have to scratch something hard off to read. hehe My husband will love this recipe, he loves cashews, and I just bought some. I can just taste it now salty,sweet and crunchy, another wonderful recipe........:)

Another great one..oh my how will I ever get all of these things baked. I have to make the bundt cake your nutter butter crust bars..can't remember the name but they have marshmallows and still some recipes from a year ago you gave me. And not to mention all of these cakes coming our way. Im kind of getting stressed!
