Adapted from a Net recipe. These lovely not overly sweet cookies definetely have a burst of lavender flavor. Wonderful for afternoon tea, ladies luncheon , shower etc
My cookies are in the freezer now, so a photo forthcoming.

I successfully replaced about 1 cup of all-purpose flour with whole wheat pastry flour, for added nutrition.

These have the delightful flavor & aroma of lavender & butter. The texture is like a classic shortbread, with a crisp yet tender crumb. I highly recommend this. (Midgelet, I hope you like the photo.)

I love recipes that we can springboard from. I'm just running through all of the possibilities - rose water, orange blossom water, fresh thyme, cardamom... I wonder what would happen if we added fruit, like blueberries. I'm terrible at baking - I generally stay away because measuring and following directions is not my forte but this is an easy enough recipe to experiment with - thanks!

With this particular cookie, I would not add too much to it except pehaps changes in flavor as you suggested , it's simplicity makes it special. But if you add fruit, let us know how it turns out!
