I made 1/2 of this recipe and I only used sweet pickle relish as I don't have dill around because I prefer sweet. I also didn't have any green onions so I just finely minced up a couple of teaspoons of white I had. I used smoked paprika and left out the Tabasco. I really liked this and the Heinz 57 gave it a different spin on the other 1000 Island dressings I have had. I added a couple of my pictures and a tad more in Keni's thread Marie posted below. 11/3/14

This sounds delicious. I love the origin of the name..a thousand Islands, all those lovely little bits of relish and chunks of goodness floating in the pool of sauce...Your homemade is best.

Used this recipe to make the dipping sauce for a Reuben ball recipe I created... so, I did put all the ingredients in the processor for a quick pulse to make it smoother, for a dip. I also left out the egg and green onion and used all dill relish(I don't even buy sweet relish, because we just don't eat it, so that's purely personal taste, to be truer to a classic dressing, as written would be better :)... it was perfect for my needs. When I make it,again, however, it will be with the eggs and only chopping everything, because as a dressing, that would be perfect. Thanks for an easy, tasty recipe that was there when I needed it! I added my pic.

Oh Lori! Wowza! This sounds so delish and I bet it's even better after marrying flavors for about 24 in the fridge...straight to the saves.
