How to make it

  • Add enough rubbing alcohol onto the cotton ball.
  • Take the cotton ball and take all the dirt off the face.It may take more than one to take off the dirt.
  • Most faceial products don't work for alot of people.I'm one of them.

I'm sorry I don't want to hurt your feelings, but this is gross showing a dirty cotton like that. and also alcohol is the worst to clean your skin. Soap and water is better if you don't have the money to buy the right products.

AGREED with what Elaine said. She did leave but came back and both Candy and I are glad she did. It was a poster (now deceased) who lowballed her. And just look at the page under mountainmama. It was her that posted the lies about Elaine and they are still on that individual's page. I wasn't going to mention the name but it's not right that those lies should be allowed to stay posted.

Pay no heed to the detrimental comments, Sandy. No one 'owns' this site who posts here.
We may not all have the same tastes in what we post, but I also know there is no forum per se where anyone can post a non-recipe item.

As for me, I wash my ugly mug with sugar every once in awhile. It is non-drying, and mildly abrasive enough to remove excess oils and dead skin.
I know you are only trying to offer another helpful hint.

Perhaps you might consider joining the group 'Helpful Hints' ---- there are many posts of this nature there, I believe.

Have fun with this site, Sandy. Don't just leave.
I know I left once because of one certain individual who kept posting lies concerning me, and in fact, those lies remain on her page to this day.
However, with encouragement from many of my friends, I returned here, vowing never to be pushed out again.
Take care. :+D And hang in there.
    Elaine

Alcohol really is drying. I have VERY oily skin and this is my regimen: Massage Dermalogica Precleanse into skin and activate with water. Then use your regular cleanser, followed by toner, acne treatment and an oil-free moisturizer with sunscreen. I exfoliate 3 times per week and use a clay mask twice a week. Sometimes, on a spa day, I steam my face before exfoliating and masking. Mario Badescu has a good inexpensive line, although I would stay away for the facial scrubs...they are too mild. http://www.makeupalley.com/ is a great website to read reviews on any beauty product out there. Hope this helps.

Please do not do this. Rubbing alcohol should not be used. Witch hazel maybe, rubbing alcohol never. There are clay masks and a ton of other products for oily skin. I even like the tea tree oil suggestion. This is just not good advice.

Who in the world dropped your rating on this? If it was me it was a mistake, I would never rate anything lower then a 5, its just rude to do so. If its not a five don't rate it, RIGHT!!? I am sorry it got lowered, I will see if I can get a few friends to help raise it.

I like homemade skin care remedies as well. However, using alcohol straight from the bottle onto your skin is not a recipe for a homemade skincare product, and it is harmful to your skin. It is a drying agent, and you could dab some onto a pimple, however, you are only creating more oil because you are stripping your skin of natural elements instead of controlling oil. This can be verified on several websites just by googling. I only share this because I have been a cosmetics rep and have had classes on this issue.

As a former cosmetics rep and a person with very oily skin, let me say that this is the worst thing you could do to your skin, Sandy. It is cheap, and it does control oil, but, it also strips your skin of essential oils that it needs, and causes it to produce more oil in the long run. This is very bad for your skin, that's why all the products advertise being alcohol free. Try witch hazel, you can buy it at walmart alongside the alcohol. It is just as cheap, controls oil, and won't damage your skin. Hope this helps! : )

Okay, I wasn't going to say anything, but this is really going too far, Sandy! What in the world does this have to do with cooking!? Besides it's just gross! It's called Group Recipes - a FOOD social network for a reason. Showing your nasty dirty cotton ball from your oily face is not FOOD! At least not in my household! Please stop grossing up out with this stuff!

When I tryed other faceial products that nothing worked for me for my face.I know that rubbing alcohol drys the face out.Truefully to be honest with you.I don't do it every day.Just when I need too.Only time that I use it when it is hot out side and I have been out in the heat for 2 to 3 hours or longer.
