Ingredients
  • 1 -cup sugar ..........
  • 1/2 -cup butter............
  • 1/2-- cup heavy cream ..........
  • 1/8 tsp salt ........
  • 2 -cups powdered sugar .......
  • 1 -tsp vanilla .............
  • 1/2- cup red candied cherries, chopped.........
  • 1/2- cup green candied cherries, chopped............

Directions
  1. Spray an 8 x 8-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a large saucepan, bring the sugar, butter, cream and salt to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  3. Let boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove from heat and slowly add the powdered sugar and vanilla, stirring until smooth and well combined.
  5. Stir in the cherries until evenly distributed.
  6. Spoon into baking dish and chill for 1 hour or until firm. Cut into 1-inch squares.
  7. Store in an airtight container.

I love this tink, and a nice give away.....:)


It's a great base recipe, but hmm.... I'm thinking... candied orange peel, or adding raspberry extract and expresso powder. How to bastardize and mangle? I'm never one to blatantly rip off another's creation so I must make this my own somehow. I'll report back to you! Have you made these? In the meantime- 5 forks!
