Cheddar Biscuits with Garlic Butter

- For biscuits: shopping list
- 2 cups all purpose flour, sifted shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt shopping list
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (you may need a little more) shopping list
- 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese shopping list
- Garlic Butter: shopping list
- 1 stick unsalted butter, melted, with 1 clove garlic, crushed shopping list
- a little parsley (fresh or dried) shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 375ºF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients and blend thoroughly. Using your fingers or a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix in the cheese then add the buttermilk, quickly blend in with a fork, making sure to not overwork the dough.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough with a rolling pin to a rectangle, thickness of 1/2-inch. With knife, cut evenly into 6 square biscuits. Place biscuits keeping them side by side on prepared baking sheet and bake until golden brown, about 15 to 20 minutes.
- While biscuits are hot, SLATHER them with the garlic butter. Serve immediately.
