Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix all the ingredients for the beef up in a bowl being careful not to over mix.
  • Mix all the filling ingredients together in a smaller bowl
  • Make 4 thin large patties. They will be big, but they shrink up to a perfect size after they are cooked. I did have a little left over though to make my daughter a very small patty. Place 1/2 the filling on one patty and the rest on another patty See Photo. Place the 2 remaining patties on top and close the edges really well so the filling doesn't leak out. Grill these, or as I did since it was cold, cook these on a skillet with some butter, about 3-5 minutes per side depending on how you like your burgers. See Photo

This is an AMAZING Burger! LOVED this. Sooooo Flavourful with a capital F! I'm not a Dijon fan, but it tasted great in this and I didn't have Gouda, but used a Smoked Applewood and it was to die for. Totally adding this to our regular burger rotation. Cooked it in a pan on the stovetop.....juicy and delicious. More in IMI

Have seen these in the IMI group, and had already planned on trying them this season...well, I had smoked gouda and bacon for another recipe I was doing, so these were a given to try, now, too! :) Fabulous, flavorful, filling burger, right here! We kept the toppings light so we could make sure to taste the hidden treasures. Just a lil leaf lettuce and Dijon. Thanks, luv, for the recipe! I added my photo to the gallery! hehe

I had some ground beef to use up and some gouda and some bacon and then I remembered I had some gruyere, too! So, one burger got the gouda and one got the gruyere. I only could eat half again so thanks for the dinners all week, ml2c! Used basil again because I have so much in my garden.

This was so good I had to make it again tonight. 8-8-11 I did as you suggested and added extra bread crumbs and they held together. Made 2 huge burgers Posted a pic of one before the bun. Thanks again for a great recipe

This is a great burger. I made it for lunch. I had just under a pound of ground beef. It made one monster burger. I tried to make two from it but had problems keeping it together, so I made it into one. The patty was so big I almost needed a San Fransisco sour dough loaf for a hamburger bun. OK well not quite that big. But it was BIG :) Excellent post, ML2C. Thank you More here Bacon Gouda Patties

Oh.My.God. What a burger this is! So delicious! I cut the recipe in half for one burger for me. The other nice thing was I pre-prepped nearly everything early in the morning so it was all ready when I was hungry, which is something I like in a recipe. The only difference for me was I had no parsley so I used some basil from my garden. It was very windy here today so I cooked it inside in my cast iron griddle pan. I could not eat the whole burger! It was huge! :) Put it on spinach and red onion. A very excellent recipe. Added my picture, too. Thanks so much for posting this one!
