Missouri cole slaw

- 1 med. head of cabbage,shredded(can use 1/2 white & 1/2 red) shopping list
- 2 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup sour cream shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 3 Tbs. vinegar shopping list
- 1/3 cup grated onion shopping list
- 2 med. carrots,shredded shopping list
- evaporated milk shopping list
How to make it
- in a large collander, combine cabbage and 2 tsp. salt.place a plate over cabbage and weigh down withsome can goods. let stand for 60 minutes. stir togather sour crean,vinegar,sugar,remaining salt and enough evaporated milk to make a medium thick sauce, you don't want it to thick.
- squeeze cabbage by hands full to remove extra liquid. add onion and carrots. stir in dressing and toss lightly to coat.keep refrigerated.
- never knew that there was a Missouri cole slaw until ran across this recipe.
