This is a thick, hearty, soup that is almost a stew. It's what you do with that leftover hambone. Slow cooked so it's easy to make.

Glad you approve. It is certainly different tasting than our usual Bean Soup but wonderful in it's own way. Kinda like Ham Stew with beans. LOL.

We're still trying to decide between turkey or ham. I think you pushed the vote.

Thanks for another option to using that leftover ham bone....My family tires of split pea soup so easily....;D

That hambone makes this so good and different. I love that the ham and ham flavor is quite prominent. Great recipe - thanks! It's a keeper.

This is a great alternative to pea soup with the hambone...especially since my daughter hates pea soup! Got my vote of confidence and a bookmark!

This recipe was intended as a way of using up leftovers but has grown a life of it's own. Heck I may have to start buying hambones to make it. :)
