Ingredients

How to make it

  • "Fire Up The Grill"
  • While your waiting for the charcoals to get "White Hot"Prepare the oysters..
  • Wearing thick canvas gloves, and with a twist of your oyster knife shuck the oysters. Remove any shell chips, and loosen the oyster from its shell, keeping the oysters in their deepest shell with their own juice.
  • Place them on the Grill at its Hottest and pour melted butter over each oyster.
  • Let the flare ups flare a little, but tame them with lemon juice and water in a spray bottle.
  • Sprinkle with grated Parmesan .and grill for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Remove to a platter and serve!!!
  • Scoop the oyster out of his shell with the bread, Be sure to soak up all the juices. Splash with Tabasco®........ENJOY!!!!

I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR 25 YEARS!!!! Thanks for the post! First had oysters this way in Houston 25 years ago, but I was a young bride and paid no attention to what was going on then. As I live in central Illinois, seafood is usually not that accessible, but things are changing. This will be on my grill in the coming week! THANKS AGAIN!!

Love all oysters...steamed, on the half-shell, baked and especially off the grill! Thanks for sharing your version of grilled oysters. BTW, we are neighbors!

Now you're just being cruel, showing a picture like that when it's below zero, the wind is howling, and the grill is covered in snow and ice for another couple months...man, that picture is making me DROOL!
