Believe it or not, I learned to grill steaks from Gracie Allen's method of cooking roast. I always cut a small piece of steak and place it on a cool area of the grill. I cut bites off the small piece to "test taste" for "done". I know when the small piece is well done, the larger steaks are about medium! It works!
