THIS IS A INDIAN FRY BREAD; I USUALLY MAKE THIS FRY BREAD, FOR INDIAN TACOS .......BUT YOU CAN MAKE THE DOUGH SMALLER FOR JUST A FRY BREAD SNACK WITH , CINNAMON AND SUGAR OR JAM AND BUTTER

  • 2 CUPS FLOUR
  • 4 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
  • 1 TABLESPOON SUGAR
  • 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
  • 1 CUP OF MILK ( LUKE WARM ONLY)
  • ******************************************************************************************************************************************************
  • TO USE THIS FRY BREAD FOR INDIAN TACOS
  • ANY FILLING YOU LIKE , I LOAD THE TACOS AS FOLLOWS
  • REFRIED BEANS SPREAD ALL OVER THE BREAD FIRST THEN HAMBURGER MEAT COOKED WITH ONIONS AND DRAINED
  • LETTUCE ,,TOMATOES GUACAMOLE, SOUR CREAM AND SHREDDED CHEESE, AND THEN YOUR FAVORITE SALSA
  • IT IS AN AWESOME HUGE MEAL THESE ARE ABOUT 7 TO 8 INCHES , YOU CAN MAKE SMALLER BUT THIS IS THE TRADITIONAL.

Directions
  1. SIFT TOGETHER BAKING POWDER,FLOUR SALT AND SUGAR.
  2. ADD LIGUID SLOWLY TO MAKE A SOFT DOUGH( IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE MILK BE LUKEWARM)
  3. ROLL OUT ON A FLOURED BOARD, 1/2 INCH THICKNESS
  4. CUT IN PIECES ABOUT 2X4 INCHES
  5. FRY IN HOT OIL UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN AND THEN TURN OVER AND BROWN 2ND SIDE, THESE COOK VERY FAST SO BE CAREFUL NOT TO BURN THEM.SERVE WITH BUTTER CINNAMON AND SUGAR OR JAMS.
  6. ******************************************************************************************************************************************************
  7. FOR INDIAN TACOS , USING A LARGE CAST IRON SKILLET ROLL OUT A ROUND DOUGH WITH ROLLING PIN OR HAND TOSSED, MAKING IT IT ALMOST AS BIG AS THE SKILLET
  8. FRY IN HOT OIL, ABOUT 2 INCHES OR SO, BOTH SIDES UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN THESE WILL PUFF UP. DRAIN AND MAKE YOUR TACOS ......DELICOUS .
