Basil Buttermilk Dressing

I love this tangy dressing and it couldn't be easier to make. It really livens up a plate of crisp salad greens - and it's also great on a baked potato or as a dip. Ingredients
- 1 small garlic clove shopping list
- Rounded 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2/3 cup well-shaken buttermilk shopping list
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise shopping list
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh basil (if you use dried basil, back it down to 2 teaspoons) shopping list
How to make it
- Mince garlic and mash to a paste with salt using a large heavy knife.
- Whisk together buttermilk, mayonnaise, basil, and garlic paste in a small bowl.
- Chill, covered, 1 hour to allow flavors to develop.
