This was really good! I loved the smoky flavor and I did get the Chinese vegetable taste as well. I messed up my dinner timing and this only sat for 15 minutes in my refrigerator although I did turn it a couple of times. Made this on my charcoal grill and it went great with the salmon I was having. I added a picture and a bit more in the thread in IMI. 5//17/14

I didn't have the ingredients above so I improvised a little...SORRY! But it turned out BEAUTIFULLY...albeit a little spicy but I love the HEAT ;)
Sunflower oil with a little sesame seed oil for Olive oil
Oyster sauce for Balsamic vinegar (with this I omitted the salt)
Chilli flakes and powder for dried minced onion
    Coriander for Oregano
and the garlic powder and pepper from the above recipe!
Just before I served it (ate it by myself) I squeezed some fresh lime over the top...
    THANK YOU!

This was so good! I made it as a snack for myself one day. I wasn't sure if I should keep the hearts intact or pull apart the leaves but it looks like from others' photos they kept them whole.. I didn't have a freezer bag big enough so I pulled them apart. Anyway, this is delicious! I did it on my indoor grill b/c that's all I have :)

Have been eyeing this one for a while. SO GOOD!!! You will not believe how much flavor it has and the smokiness from the grill...outstanding!!! My husband thought I was crazy when I brought them out to him to grill but he loved it too!!! It would be great to grill some onion and bell pepper to chop up with it next time! Thanks Lillian!!

This was the biggest surprise I've had in a while...not that I didn't think it would be good, but I didn't know it would be THAT good! :) I'm not sure that I got the "Chinese Vegetable" taste, but I was so surprised at how much flavor this had! I followed the recipe only exchanging oregano for basil cus I have tons of fresh basil, and we just aren't huge oregano fans...but, other than that, everything was as you wrote it. :) I HIGHLY recommend you all try this with your next grilled meal. I can't see how it could NOT be enjoyed. :) Thanks, Lillian....this will be on our table MANY times this season. Probably not another green salad served as a side dish for anything we grill! :) I added a pic...hope it's okay.

This looks great. I also had a grilled caesar salad once at The Chop House in DC. Something about grilling the romaine lettuce really brings out an extra depth of flavor.
