How to make it

  • Boil the collard greens for 25 min, meanwhile make the BBQ sauce.
  • For the BBQ sauce: In a medium saucepan, combine the rest of the ingredients, bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 15 min. Stir occasionally while cooking.
  • Drain the collards and toss with the BBQ sauce. Serve warm as a side dish.
  • You may have more BBQ sauce than you need. Use as much as you like, store the rest in a ziplock in freezer. Great for using with any meat.

    I'm sending your collard recipe on to my husband! He loves to make collards! The weather has indeed been crazy. We're supposed to be in the 70's this weekend too.

    I love fresh collards and this is quite a different recipe and is definitely being bookmarke to try. Plus the bbq sauce sounds awesome by itself to be used for other recipes. Two recipes in one - high 5 for that!
