Moms Soft Christmas Caramels

And the winner in the Desserts Contest is Denise Trombly of Nashua as reported in the Feast newsletter of the Nashua Times. Theseare so very easy and soft and chewy. Perfect for holiday gifts and your holiday table.
Ingredients
- Desserts winner: Denise Trombly, of Nashua shopping list
- ------------------------- shopping list
- 3 cups sugar shopping list
- 1/2 pound butter shopping list
- Bottle of Karo syrup shopping list
- 1 (14-ounce) can condensed milk shopping list
How to make it
- Mix first three ingredients, and boil for 10 minutes
- Add the can of condensed milk. Bring to a boil one more time. Stir for 5 minutes.
- Pour on buttered cookie sheet.
- Cut, with a buttered knife, into strips, then into thumb-sized pieces and wrap tightly in waxed paper. Keep in tightly covered container.
