My first time having polenta. I halved this recipe. My log was only 6" long and I assumed you meant to cut into 1" rounds. I cut seven pieces (saving the others for a different recipe). I also assumed you meant to slice the onions and peppers so I did that as well. My grocery store was out of red peppers so I used green and orange. I also drained the sausage of the grease. I pushed the sausage to the side while I cooked the peppers and onions so the sausage wouldn't get too crispy. I broiled the polenta rounds while the sauce was simmering and I cooked my rounds for 10 minutes total - five each side. I loved how thick the sauce was. I think I'll use some on a sandwich. I loved this. Its a very tasty dish even if I did forget the Parmesan. I added a picture and a thread in IMI 11/16/13.

Love polenta (used to be cornmeal mush in our house!) and I love sausage and peppers. What's not to love here! Great idea, Lincolntoot!
