Ingredients

How to make it

  • Combine berries with rum and white sugar and toss to coat and let rest while preparing topping.
  • Combine flour, brown sugar, oats, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Add butter and cream cheese and mix(I use my hands) until combined. Batter will not be crumbly, rather it should hold it's shape if you press it together.
  • Pour berries into shallow glass dish, or dishes, to form about a single layer.
  • Drop batter over entire surface of berries
  • Bake at 400 for 35-45 minutes until berries are bubbly and topping is golden brown.
  • This is, of course, fantastic with vanilla ice cream or homemade whipped cream.
  • The "Berry Rum" liquid that forms in the bottom of the pan makes a fun "shot"(no traceable alcohol is present, but it's tasty! :)

I had some cream cheese to use up and a bag of frozen raspberries so this was a perfect recipe find! I only had two cups of berries but rather than do some complicated math, I just cut the topping ingredients in half. So, I had a bit more topping than berries but that didn't matter because the topping is delicious. I got two little cobblers. Used whipped cream on top. Delicious. I added a picture and put a thread in IMI 1/22/14 Thanks for another great one, Keni.

Wow, is right! This is my kind of dessert.

Typical man. I commented before reading the instruction... I thought the oats went into the berries to thicken the mixture. Now, I wonder...

    Quick oats?

This is a high 5 Keni. Thanks.
