Crescent Cheeseburger Bake

- 1 1/2 lb ground beef shopping list
- 3/4 cup finely chopped onion shopping list
- 3/4 cup ketchup shopping list
- 1/4 cup water shopping list
- 6 slices American cheese (you may sub your fave) shopping list
- 1 1/2 tablespoons yellow mustard shopping list
- 1/4 cup dill relish (not sweet) shopping list
- 1 teaspoon chopped garlic shopping list
- black pepper to taste shopping list
- seasoning salt to taste shopping list
- 1 can crescent rolls shopping list
- kosher salt for sprinkling shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 375.
- Place beef into large skillet and begin browning process.
- When meat is about 1/2 browned, add onions and finish browning.
- Drain meat well---you may place into a strainer and spray with very hot water at this point to reduce even more fat.
- Return meat & onions to skillet and top with slices of melted cheese, water, ketchup, mustard, relish and seasonings.
- Stir until melted thoroughly and well-combined.
- Remove from heat and pour contents into an 11x7 casserole.
- Cover with crescent rolls, pinching rolls together to form a solid top.
- Brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle lightly with kosher salt for appearance. (You may use sesame seeds!)
- Bake in 350 oven until golden brown, shiny, and bubbly around edges, approx 25 minutes.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
