Crescent Cheeseburger Bake Recipe

Crescent Cheeseburger Bake Recipe
Add Step-by-Step Photos

I came up with this after viewing some like this and doing my own take on it. Easy, economical and tastes EXACTLY like a McDonald's cheeseburger! The egg brushed on top is important for looks and texture. Enjoy! --Kn0x--

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 6 slices American Cheese (you may sub your fave)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1/4 cup DILL relish (not sweet)
  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
  • black pepper to taste
  • seasoning salt to taste
  • 1 can crescent rolls
  • Kosher salt for sprinkling

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Place beef into large skillet and begin browning process.
  3. When meat is about 1/2 browned, add onions and finish browning.
  4. Drain meat well---you may place into a strainer and spray with very hot water at this point to reduce even more fat.
  5. Return meat & onions to skillet and top with slices of melted cheese, water, ketchup, mustard, relish and seasonings.
  6. Stir until melted thoroughly and well-combined.
  7. Remove from heat and pour contents into an 11x7 casserole.
  8. Cover with crescent rolls, pinching rolls together to form a solid top.
  9. Brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle lightly with kosher salt for appearance. (You may use sesame seeds!)
  10. Bake in 350 oven until golden brown, shiny, and bubbly around edges, approx 25 minutes.
  11. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Ok, I need to print this recipe out too! Bookmarking it is easy, but takes forever to get into the recipe manager. Thanks! Will let you know when I make this.
