Ingredients

How to make it

  • Rinse tomatillos, cover with water, bring to boil, reduce heat, simmer uncovered for 10 minutes until tomatillos have changed color
  • Drain water. Put tomatillos, salt, garlic and serrano pepper in blender; blend to desired consistency (note: pepper seeds will add heat to salsa)
  • Add 1/4 cup diced onion, 3-4 tablespoons chopped cilantro

    Made this tonight to go with our steak fajitas and guacamole... so good. I prefer this over tomato salsa, but don't make it enough. I did use 3 jalapenos instead of the serrano and I didn't use my sweet onions, so I did sweat my onions just a bit before adding. It was so classic. :) Thank you so much for this recipe...can't wait til we get to see more from your Mama! :) :)---I added my photo
