Before I had a baby, one of my hubby's and my favorite breakfast was oatmeal. Now with the baby, I rarely get to eat breakfast(I know, TISK TISK) So I bought quaker instant oatmeal last week ...I was SHOCKED...it was SO gross compared to homemade oatmeal, It tasted like cardboard and sugar. Your idea is great! Thanks for sharing!!I will be passing it along!

Bravo! Like a lot of people, I buy those stupid instant oatmeal packets for the office. No more! Occasionally my cooking friends and I get into a "how instant do things have to be" discussion, and the topic of instant oatmeal always comes up. I can't wait to spring this recipe on them.

I made a bunch of these for my boyfriend and his son a while back and they were a huge hit. The best part is being able to really customize the flavors, without the way-too-much sugar the commercial ones have. Don't forget about vanilla powder! It's a great addition to most flavors and really makes it taste rich and yummy!

I've heard of doing this before but I'd never tried it. I just got in a large package of 1 minute oats to make the raspberry oatmeal roll recipe, so I can experiment.
