Now that is home cookin!

Sounds Southern enough for me--yummmmmeeeee

This looks yummy, I'll have to try it this week.

Simple! And sounds delicious!

YUM!!!

I make this all the time but start with sauted garlic and onions.

I, too add onions. But I find that if I start out with the onions, they burn. So I like to let my taters start browning then I add the onions.
mmmmm...taters

You betcha!

I was just looking at your recipe for Grandma's Fried Potatoes, boy do they look good. I love fried potatoes, I can make a meal on them alone and often do. My grand-daughter is learning to cook, she helps me out a lot in the kitchen, in fact she's going to join this website today. To go on....she already knows how to frie potatoes and she does an excellent job. She makes them for me sometimes when I'm really busy trying to ship our hairpieces and wigs or get them listed. Some days I'm sooooo busy with ebay that I don't have time to stop and cook, not even time to make a sandwich, so I'm really grateful that she has such a great interest in cooking and cooks for me when I need her too.
I'm definitely going to try your take on the fried potatoes TODAY! Reading this recipe has made my mouth water for them!! :)

This is how I make my potatoes for breakfast except I'll chop up some onion and add a bit of garlic powder. The parsley is always great with these potatoes

OMG! Fried taters, pinto beans and cornbread!! NO, wait! Fried taters, topped with fried eggs, served with bacon and a biscuit! I'm hungry... got any leftovers?

YUUUMMMY!!! SOMETHING I CANT REALLY EAT, BUT IT WONT HURT ME IF I EAT IT ONCE EVERY 6 MONTHS. THANKS FOR SHARING!

The gentle steaming plus browning looks like a very good strategy. I've got another way I learned in France that I'll post soon.

You are SOOOO right this dish is very southern, my grandmaw taught me how to do cook this also

We make this down here an call it smothered potatoes. We serve it with hot biscuits & sausage. Great for breakfast or quick supper. My family loves it!

Thats the way I fry potatoes but instead of parsley I add jalapenos.

A great southern treat. LOVE IT!

I sometimes fry my potatoes in extra virgin olive oil with a couple tablespoons of butter, salt and pepper, they come out so rich and good. But I let mine get brown enough that they have a crunch to them.

I sometimes chop up some onion and add to my fried potatoes.
