A great winter treat. Serve with spaghetti and a huge loaf of good, crusty bread for dipping into the sauce.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 small onion – finely chopped
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 3 cloves of crushed garlic
  • 1 tsp chicken stock powder
  • 5 tomatoes – peeled & chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp sugar

Directions
  1. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, onion and 2 cloves of crushed garlic.
  2. Mix well.
  3. Lightly fry in ½ cup of hot oil.
  4. Do not over fry.
  5. Place on paper towels to drain.
  6. For sauce, combine tomatoes, 1 clove of crushed garlic, chicken stock, cumin, sugar, salt & pepper.
  7. Simmer.
  8. Once sauce has thickened add soutzoukakia and heat thoroughly.
