  • For the flan:
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (390grams/14oz)
  • 1 can evaporated milk (195 grams/7oz)
  • 1 ¼ cups heavy cream.
  • 5 eggs.
  • 3 ½ oz cream cheese
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract.
  • For the cake:
  • 1 box devil's food cake mix or fudge chocolate cake mix.

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375F. Fill 2 (12 muffins tray) with paper cups or silicon cups.
  2. Heat the sugar over medium heat till it all dissolve and turn golden color, add the butter in small pieces stirring with a wooden spoon, add the cream in a steady stream so slowly while stirring. Pour the caramel in the muffins tray and keep aside till cooled.
  3. In a food processor, mix all the flan ingredients for 2 minutes and set aside.
  4. Make the cake batter by following the instructions on the box.
  5. Pour the cake batter over the caramel sauce in the pan. Using a large spoon, add the flan mixture so slowly on top. Don’t be surprised, here is the trick steps, the flan and the cake batter will flip while baking leaving the caramel on the base. Isn’t a Miracle!!

Hi, Ahmed
Orange and chocolate, my husband will love this!!!
Thanks!

Love the orange and chocolate. I love the flan on top. I like this better as an individual cake, I've tried to do it as a large cake and it failed miserably. Can't wait to give this a try. Super nice post. Ahmed. Great photos as always.

Wonderful recipe! Amazing pictures that really show detail! Thanks for sharing.

Great concept , for dat alone a 5 . The caramel sauce set in rite temp. will stay below , no matter wat . The condensed milk mixture is quite heavy compared with the cake batter . dat explains the magical sinking taken place when baking . but Ahmed , you have given me an idea to toy with new mixing and baking for an another birtday party in 9 days time . for dat , a big thank you : 0 )

For heavens sake Ahmed...it gets better & better each time. My dear friend, you're a pro chef!!! I've looked at the pictures over & over again in amzement!
