  • 1 (12 ounce) bag semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 (12 ounce) bag white baking chips
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 gallon chocolate ice cream, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup chocolate syrup
  • whipped cream to garnish

Directions
  1. Line two 13 x 9 x 2-inch pans with aluminum foil, leaving 1 inch of foil overhanging at 2 opposite sides of pan.
  2. Melt chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons of shortening in 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently.
  3. Divide melted chocolate evenly between 2 pans and spread into thin, even layers.
  4. Freeze 10 minutes or until firm
  5. Remove from pan, using foil to lift, and return to freezer.
  6. Line pans with foil again
  7. Do the same thing with white chocolate that was done with semisweet chocolate
  8. Line 1 pan with plastic wrap and set aside.
  9. Beat half each of the ice cream and peanut butter in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until just mixed.
  10. Repeat with remaining ice cream and peanut butter in second bowl.
  11. Remove all chocolate layers from freezer
  12. Peel foil from each layer as it is used
  13. Place 1 white chocolate layer in bottom of plastic-lined pan. Carefully spread 1/3 of the ice cream mixture on top
  14. Add 1 semi-sweet chocolate layer
  15. Spread with 1/3 of ice cream mixture
  16. Add 1 white chocolate layer
  17. Spread with remaining ice cream
  18. Top with remaining semi-sweet chocolate layer
  19. Cover and freeze at least 12 hours.
  20. Place pan upside down on cookie sheet
  21. Place hot towels on bottom of pan
  22. Remove pan and plastic
  23. Cut into 5 rows by 3 rows
  24. Drizzle with chocolate syrup
  25. Garnish with whipped cream
  26. Cook time does not include freeze time
