How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • Chop onion and sauté in oil until soft.
  • Add beef and brown then drain and place mixture in bottom of large casserole dish.
  • Season with salt, pepper and cinnamon then rinse corn and drain well.
  • Layer over beef mixture then cut salami slices into thin strips and layer over corn.
  • Peel tomatoes then slice and layer over salami and season with salt, pepper and oregano.
  • Combine cheese and breadcrumbs then layer over tomatoes and dot with butter.
  • Bake 35 minutes then allow to cool 5 minutes before serving.

    A lot of African recipes us e a pinch of cinnamon when cooking beef. It does come out really wonderful. Maybe it's like the South Americans using chocolate with chicken, another pleasurable taste sensation. Thanks for sharing!
