Unusual Layered Corn Casserole

- 1 white onion shopping list
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 pound ground beef shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1 pound can corn shopping list
- 1/4 pound sliced salami shopping list
- 1 pound fresh tomatoes shopping list
- 1 teaspoon oregano shopping list
- 1/2 pound gouda cheese shredded shopping list
- 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs shopping list
- 1 tablespoon butter shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 400.
- Chop onion and sauté in oil until soft.
- Add beef and brown then drain and place mixture in bottom of large casserole dish.
- Season with salt, pepper and cinnamon then rinse corn and drain well.
- Layer over beef mixture then cut salami slices into thin strips and layer over corn.
- Peel tomatoes then slice and layer over salami and season with salt, pepper and oregano.
- Combine cheese and breadcrumbs then layer over tomatoes and dot with butter.
- Bake 35 minutes then allow to cool 5 minutes before serving.

It sounds wonderful! I'm going to hold off on trying it until I have garden fresh ripe tomatoes to use -- but you get my five just based on how I think this is going to taste -- what a great flavor combination!
