Million Dollar Pound Cake

- 1 lb butter, softened shopping list
- 6 large eggs shopping list
- 3/4 cup whipping cream shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 10 inch tube pan shopping list
- 3 cups sugar shopping list
- 4 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon almond extract shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F
- Beat butter at medium speed w/electric mixer until creamy(5-7 mins)
- Gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed until light & fluffy
- Butter will turn to a fluffy white.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating until yellow yolk disappears.
- Add flour to creamed mixture alternately with whipping cream.
- Start with flour and ending with flour
- Beat at low speed until blended after each addition
- Batter should be smooth, no lumps
- Stir in vanilla & almond extracts with a spatula
- Use vegetable shortening or butter to grease pan well
- Sprinkle with a light coating of flour over greased surface
- Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 40 minutes
- Cool on rack for about 15 minutes.
- Remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack

I made this, took it to a party, came home with only two pieces!! It was absolutely delicious. I drizzled a lemon juice, powdered sugar, almond glaze over the cake, then covered the crown with toasted sliced almonds! Wonderful, wonderful! Thanks,...more
