Ingredients
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 1/3 medium red onion, chopped finely
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 3 jalapeno peppers, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 cup chopped cilantro

Directions
  1. combine all ingredients in a medium bowl.
  2. Let stand one hour.

Your right.. this stuff is good. We make it by the gallon when we have a crowd in. Good recipe, the real thing.


Yay! I was just looking for a good pico de gallo recipe. If you can believe it, my 3 yo son loves it! He never liked tomatoes before, but he loved the pico de gallo at Moe's Southwest Grill. We actually asked for more on the side, and he ate it straight with a spoon! I may have to make some for this Memorial Day weekend. In fact, I might let him help by adding and stirring in the ingredients.


I love this stuff! I'm always looking for it in a jar in the store. Never can find it. Will be trying this for Memorial Day also. Thanks.

Love this stuff!! We eat out Mexican on a weekly basis, and I probably cook Mexican at home at least once or twice a week. I make my own pico all the time! Mine's a little different..never tried the cumin in mine before. I will now though!


I have never added cumin to my pico. Will have to try it! I always make half of the recipe with seeded jalapenos, for those who don't like spicy.

Great recipe, I love pico de gallo


I made this for my husband and it was great!!! He loved it and the cumin really made a difference. I was late getting dinner finished and this bought me a lot of extra time and a lot of verbal praises :)

I actually used a different ratio of tomatoes/onions. I keep all of my veggies chopped up right when I get home from the grocery store so I used about 1/2 cup or so of onions and only 2ish or so tomatoes with a little bit more lime juice. Probably too strong but pico is what you make of it :)
